Collision/Loss Damage Waiver (CDW/LDW)
If renter declines CDW/LDW, the renter will be liable for all loss and damage to the vehicle up to the full retail value.
If renter accepts CDW/LDW, your rental vehicle is fully covered and there is a zero deductible.
Liability Deductible Coverage (LDC)
If renter declines LDC, the renter will be liable for a maximum of US$1900 for third party property damage and or pedestrian bodily injury.
If renter accepts LDC, this covers the renter and all authorized drivers against third-party bodily injury and property-damage claims.

UPDATE FEB 2019 Driving Permit
Prior to Feb 2019 each driver needed to purchase a Cayman Islands visitors driving permit in order to drive in the Cayman Islands. Now we are pleased to say the laws in Cayman have been changed to allow any driver with a full divers license from their own country to drive in the Cayman Islands. The Cayman Islands visitor driving permit is now obsolete.
Minimum age to rent: 25 years of age with Avis honored charge card and travel vouchers supported by a charge card.
Minimum age to drive: 21 years of age with major credit card.
Under 25 years of age: renters or additional drivers cannot purchase CDW.
Maximum renting/driving age: None
- Credit card holder is free to drive (of course)
- If the card holder is not driving, there will still be a fee charged for an additional driver.
- USD 10.00 per day.
- Caps off - maximum of 10 days after 10 is no charge.
- 3 people is the capacity that we charge. I.e if there are 4 additional drivers the forth would be free and so forth.
- Spouses are free!
Delivery & Collection
Cars cannot be picked up directly at the airport arrival gate due to government regulations, but the Avis office is only within 2 minutes walking distance of the arrival area. Free pick up island wide.
Not included in rate. The price per gallon if rental car is returned less than full of fuel will be approximately US$16.50 per gallon. It is highly recommended that you refuel your rental car prior to return. The Imperial gallon is used in the Cayman Islands (5 quarts per gallon versus the US gallon of 4 quarts pg)
